Magnetic Separator in Maldives
At a Glance
PML supplies stainless-steel and coated magnetic separators, filters and grills to the Maldives, built to remove ferrous contamination without corroding in the salt air and marine humidity of a tropical atoll environment.
Don't let corrosion beat you to the next equipment failure. Enquire now and we'll recommend the right coating and magnet grade for your environment.
Food processing, desalination intake screening and construction-material handling in a tropical atoll environment all face the same double risk: ferrous contamination in the material stream, and equipment that corrodes prematurely in the salt air. PML builds both problems out of the equation with stainless-steel and PTFE/ETFE-coated construction.
With 65+ years of magnetic separation engineering, every PML unit is Gauss-tested before dispatch, not estimated from a datasheet.
How We Size the Right Equipment for You
Every enquiry starts with three numbers: your belt width (or pipe diameter for a liquid line), your burden depth (how thick the material layer is as it passes under or through the magnet), and your belt or line speed. Those numbers determine the Gauss rating and magnet size you actually need. A unit that's undersized for your burden depth will simply let tramp iron pass underneath it, and an oversized unit is money spent on holding force you'll never use. Tell us your material, your throughput and roughly what kind of contamination you're seeing, whether that's fine wire, bolts, or rebar fragments, and PML's engineering team will recommend a specific model, not a generic range.

Why Manufacturers Choose PML
- 65+ years of magnetic engineering
Permanent Magnets Ltd has designed and manufactured magnetic separation equipment since 1960, not resold someone else's line.
- Every unit Gauss-tested before dispatch
Holding force is verified on our own pull-testing equipment, not estimated from a datasheet.
- Real engineering support, not a catalogue lookup
Tell us your material, burden depth and belt speed and we'll recommend the specific model that fits, or design a custom one if nothing standard does.
- Built and tested in-house
Magnets, housings and assemblies are manufactured and quality-checked at our own Mira Road facility in India, not outsourced.
Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can I get a quote?
Most enquiries get a response, including a recommended model and indicative pricing, within one business day. Complex or custom requirements may need a short follow-up call with our engineering team.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. PML exports magnetic separation equipment worldwide, with full technical documentation supplied for customs clearance in every shipment.
What information do you need to recommend the right equipment?
Your material type, belt width or pipe diameter, burden depth, and the type of contamination you're seeing, whether that's fine particles, wire, or larger metal pieces. If you're not sure of these numbers yet, our engineers can help you work them out.
What's the difference between a magnetic pulley, a drum separator and a magnetic filter?
A magnetic pulley replaces your conveyor's head pulley and catches tramp iron as material passes over it. A drum separator sits at the discharge of a chute or hopper for the same purpose in gravity-fed lines. A magnetic filter is built for liquids, slurries and process fluids rather than dry material. Not sure which fits your line? Enquire and we'll tell you.
