Product Details

Prefabricated construction moves at the speed of its formwork — and formwork moves at the speed of its fixing system. The PML Precast Concrete Magnet (also called a shuttering or formwork magnet) replaces welding and bolting with a magnetic block embedded directly in the formwork: more convenient, more efficient and more stable than a magnetic box, with adhesive forces from 450 kg to 2100 kg.

The magnetic block clamps the formwork tight against the template, fixing the whole formwork system in place. Because the steel formwork and magnets act as one, nothing shifts during casting — and the form surface is never damaged by welds or bolt holes.

Why Precast Plants Choose Magnets

Precast concrete formwork is widely used on construction sites, high-rise developments and railway infrastructure projects — it increases building stability while reducing labour costs. Production happens at ground level under close monitoring, so curing is controlled and safety improves across the project. Material quality and workmanship are easier to control in a plant than on site, and forms are reused hundreds to thousands of times, often making precast cheaper per unit of formwork than on-site casting.

Construction & Materials

The formwork magnet consists of a steel shell with embedded NdFeB rare-earth magnets. The shell is Q235A carbon steel — better magnetic flux than stainless at lower cost — finished with blackening, a chemical surface treatment that forms an oxide film to isolate the metal from air and prevent rust.

The Bolt Lifting System

The companion bolt lifting system — spreader, anchor and rubber recess former — is a safe, quick-connect/disconnect system for handling and transporting precast elements. It is non-welded; all bolts are hot- or cold-forged steel, high quality and reusable.

Safety Guidance for Lifting Anchors
  • Install all lifting anchors in accordance with the safe-use guidelines.
  • Anchors are for temporary use only — never for permanent fastening.
  • Consider all provided technical data to ensure safe use.
  • Anchors are designed with a minimum safety factor of 3.
  • Do not reuse lifting anchors beyond their intended lifting-and-transport cycle.
  • Never use anchors that are incorrectly installed, damaged or corroded.

Key Advantages

  1. 450–2100 kg Adhesive Force

A model for every panel size — see the specification table below.

  2. No Welding, No Bolting

The form-work table surface stays pristine, and setup takes seconds with simple, exact positioning.

  3. One Magnet, Many Jobs

Works with wood or steel formwork; integrated threaded holes adapt to the formwork, and custom adapters can be made.

  4. Lever Release

Mechanical switching by pulling the lever with a releasing tool — no power, no maintenance, no operating cost.

Reading the Ratings Honestly
  • Forces are determined at room temperature on a polished steel plate (Q235B).
  • A maximum deviation of −10% is possible in exceptional cases; in general the value is exceeded.
  • Real performance depends on installation situation, temperature, counter-anchor and more — treat the values as orientation and ask our experts to verify your case.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this better than bolting the shuttering down?

Setup is seconds instead of minutes, positioning is exact, and the form table is never drilled or welded — preserving its surface finish for thousands of reuse cycles.

Which force rating do I need?

It depends on panel dimensions and concrete pressure. Models run from 450 kg to 2100 kg adhesive force — the table above lists each model's force and dimensions, and our engineers will size your application honestly.

How is the magnet released?

Mechanically: pull the lever with the releasing tool. No electricity is involved anywhere in the system.
