Product Details

When the design brief says maximum force in minimum space, the answer is NdFeB. PML NdFeB Pot Magnets enclose rare-earth neodymium — the strongest commercially available magnet material — in a mild steel shell that works as a flux concentrator, so even a small magnet generates remarkable holding force for gripping, clamping, lifting and mounting fixtures.

The outer pot is chemically plated against corrosion, and the range spans enough sizes that force can be matched precisely to the requirement.

Key Features

  1. Engineered Construction

MS shell, NdFeB magnet and aluminium/stainless ring spacer — each part doing one job well.

  2. Smooth Working Face

The magnetic surface is finished smooth, because a smooth face sticks harder to the workpiece.

  3. Simple Fixing

Standard external threading on the non-magnetic side.

  4. Heat and Chemical Tolerant

No epoxy binding — suitable for operating temperatures of 80–120°C and chemical stripping applications.

Why Designers Choose the Pot Format

  • Compact size with high holding force
  • Permanent magnetism — retained indefinitely unless exposed to a strong external field or temperatures beyond rating
  • The field is confined to the pot, so nearby objects are unaffected by stray magnetism
  • A wide variety of sizes and options

Reading the Ratings Honestly
  • Holding forces are determined at room temperature on a polished steel plate (Q235B); in general the value is exceeded.
  • Real-world performance depends on installation situation, temperature, counter-anchor and more.
  • Treat the indicated values as orientation — and get advice from our experts for your specific application.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can such a small magnet hold so much?

Two reasons: NdFeB is the strongest magnet material made, and the steel pot concentrates its flux onto the single working face instead of letting it spread in all directions.

Will it magnetise things around it?

No — the pot confines the field to the working face, so nearby tools and instruments are unaffected.

What temperature can it handle?

Standard NdFeB pot magnets operate at 80–120°C. Beyond that, choose our ferrite (250°C) or Alnico (higher still) pot magnets — we will point you to the right material honestly.
