Product Details

Alnico is the magnet alloy engineers specify when holding force has to survive heat, vibration and decades of use. PML Alnico Pot Magnets concentrate that alloy's stable, durable magnetism into a machined steel pot — a holding magnet you install once and trust for years, in conditions that would degrade lesser materials.

With strong holding power, robust construction and simple threaded installation, they mount in minutes and serve across an unusually wide range of industrial and technical tasks.

Where Alnico Pot Magnets Are Used

  • Manufacturing and assembly
  • Magnetic fixtures and clamping
  • Magnetic door catches
  • High-temperature applications, thanks to Alnico's temperature stability
  • Retrieving and lifting applications
  • Magnetic sensors and switches
  • Scientific and research applications
  • Automotive and motor applications
  • Holding fixtures for tools and equipment

Every Magnet Pull-Tested

We don't estimate holding force — we measure it. A specialised pull-force tester applies a gradually increasing force perpendicular to the magnet face until release, verifying that each design holds what its datasheet says it holds.

Choose Your Type

1. Alnico Deep Pot Magnets

The deep pot geometry maximises holding force for a given diameter — the workhorse of the range.

Alnico Deep Pot Magnets
Sr.no. Model No. A(mm) B(mm) C(Tap) Holding Force
Kg N
1 101 17 16 M6 2.7 26
2 102 21 19 M6 4.5 44
3 103 27 25.5 M6 8.2 80
4 104 35 30 M6 15 147
5 105 65 43 M12 40 392
6 108 50 40 M8 28 275

2. Alnico Shallow Pot Magnets

Where mounting depth is limited, the shallow pot delivers Alnico performance in a low-profile format.

Alnico Shallow Pot Magnets
Sr.no. Model No. A(mm) B(mm) C(mm) Holding Force
Kg N
1 121 19 8 3.5 3.5 34
2 122 28.5 9.5 7.3 10 98
3 123 37.6 11.1 4.7 12 118

3. Alnico Pot Magnets with Interrupter

An interrupter lets you mechanically break the magnetic circuit — hold and release on demand, with no power involved.

Reading the Ratings Honestly
  • Holding forces are determined at room temperature on a polished steel plate (Q235B).
  • A maximum deviation of −10% from the specified value is possible in exceptional cases; in general the value is exceeded.
  • Real-world performance depends on the application — installation situation, temperature, counter-anchor and more.
  • Treat the indicated values as orientation, and ask our engineers to verify your specific case.

Key Features

  1. Strong Holding Power

The pot construction concentrates Alnico's field onto the working face.

  2. Temperature Stability

Alnico keeps its magnetism at temperatures that would degrade other magnet materials.

  3. Robust, Versatile Build

Machined construction in a wide range of sizes and configurations, with easy threaded installation.

  4. Quality Assurance

Pull-force tested designs from a manufacturer with 65+ years in magnetics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose Alnico over NdFeB or ferrite?

Alnico excels where temperature and long-term stability matter — it holds its magnetism in heat that would weaken NdFeB, and it outlasts ferrite in demanding duty. For maximum force in a small size at moderate temperatures, see our NdFeB pot magnets; for economy, our ferrite pot magnets.

Deep, shallow, or interrupter — which type do I need?

Deep pots give the most force per diameter; shallow pots fit tight spaces; interrupter models add mechanical ON/OFF release. The specification tables above list dimensions and holding forces for every model.

Are the holding force ratings reliable?

They are measured by pull-force testing on polished steel at room temperature, and in general are exceeded in practice. Surface finish, air gaps and temperature in your application will affect the real figure — our engineers will help you verify.
