Product Details
Every Gauss rating on this site — and on any magnetic separator you buy — is only as trustworthy as the instrument used to verify it. The PML Tesla Meter / Gauss Meter (TM-901EXP) is a high-precision handheld magnetometer for measuring the direction and intensity of magnetic fields, used for everything from incoming-goods verification of a new separator to ongoing calibration audits of equipment already in service.
How to Use It
Power on the meter and hold the flat Hall probe over the magnet you're measuring — the flat face is designed for transverse field measurement. Hold it in place for a few seconds to capture the peak reading. It's the standard method used by researchers, electricians, educators and product designers to verify magnet performance during development or field service.

Key Features
- Wide DC Range
0 to 3,000 mT (0–30,000 Gauss) DC, plus AC magnetic flux density measurement from 40–500Hz.
- High-Resolution Mode
0.01 mT (0.1 Gauss) resolution for precise verification of even weak fields.
- 3-Way Power
Runs on battery, AC adapter or USB feed — battery life rated at 160 hours of continuous operation.

- USB Data Output
Digital output to PC, with sample software for logging and remote-controlling measurement commands.
- Replaceable Probe
A worn probe can be swapped for a new one without needing to recalibrate the whole unit.
Typical Applications
Verifying DC and AC magnetic fields, sensor casings in automotive assemblies, laser printer magnetic rollers, N/S polarity checks on DC magnets, residual magnetism after machining or processing, magnetic force of magnetisable materials, and field leakage checks around superconductive magnets — alongside verifying the Gauss rating of any PML separator, grill, filter or drum.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I log measurements to a computer?
Yes — the meter outputs digitally over USB, with PC software included for logging and remote measurement control.
Does it measure AC as well as DC fields?
Yes — in addition to its wide DC range, it measures AC magnetic flux density from 40–500Hz.
What happens if the probe wears out?
The probe is replaceable without requiring recalibration of the meter itself — an optional spare probe is available.
